Pope & Howard Co-Founder Receives Honor Awarded to Georgia’s Top Attorneys
ATLANTA, GA— Trial lawyer Geoff Pope, co-founder of Atlanta’s Pope & Howard, P.C. Law Firm, will present a speech entitled “The Role of the Civil Justice System in our Free Market Economy” at the January 2014 Eggonomics Speaker Series at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, a parish in the diocese of Atlanta, Georgia.
During the event, open to anyone in the metro Atlanta community who is interested in attending, Pope will discuss the crucial role that the United States justice system plays in a free market economy. Along with examples and statistics, he will describe how the justice system attempts to reward quality products, and ensure that manufacturers of inferior merchandise are penalized.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful series and look forward to sharing insights and ideas from my professional life with the All Saints’ Episcopal Church community,” said Pope.
The Eggonomics Speaker Series is a monthly breakfast series that allows parishioners and invited guests to share lessons learned in the workplace. It’s also an open forum where congregation members can discuss the intersection of personal faith and professional careers.
Pope, who co-founded Pope & Howard, P.C. in 2005, is an active member of the Atlanta community. He has served as an adjunct professor of litigation at the prestigious Emory University Law School, and regularly speaks on a variety of topics at Continuing Education seminars for Georgia attorneys. Most recently, he served as Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA) President, and is regularly featured in the Georgia Super Lawyers publication, which honors the top 5% of attorneys in the state.
Over the past several years, the Atlanta parish has heard from a variety of community-based speakers, including political figures, attorneys, doctors, bankers, and educators. “It’s an honor to be invited to speak at such a popular community event,” Pope added.
All proceeds from the Eggonomics Speaker Series go to “The Men of Hope,” an alumni group of the Covenant Community that supports those who have struggled with substance abuse and homelessness.
