The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association PAC Elects Atlanta Attorney Chair
The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA) named Geoff Pope, of the Pope & Howard, P.C. law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, the new President-elect, a position Pope will hold until April 2011 when he will become the President. Pope received the honor at the organization’s annual convention, held April 22-23.
Pope, a founding partner at Pope & Howard, an Atlanta-based law firm specializing in catastrophic personal injury cases, will then serve as GTLA President until April 2012. GTLA is composed of over 1,900 lawyers representing those injured by the wrongful conduct of others.
“I am truly humbled to be chosen by my fellow attorneys to serve as President-Elect, and then President, of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association,” said Pope. “GTLA is a dynamic organization that understands the critical role the justice system plays in our society because it ensures that those who wrongfully harm others are held accountable for their conduct. I recognize that serving as GTLA’s President-elect and President is an enormous responsibility, and during my term in office I intend to ensure that the rights of ordinary Georgia citizens remain intact.”
Founded in 1956, GTLA has 1,900 members dedicated to strengthening and upholding Georgia’s civil justice system and protecting the rights of Georgia citizens and consumers. GTLA works in the legislative, political and media arenas to ensure that all Georgia residents know and understand their rights to justice.
