ATLANTA, GA—02/11/2011—Georgia lawyer Geoff Pope was recently named a member of the Board of Trustees for the Georgia Conservancy.
The Georgia Conservancy is an organization committed to protecting Georgia’s natural resources through advocacy, conservation and education. The group, called by Georgia Trend Magazine “the state’s most influential environmental organization,” was founded in 1967, and has a storied history of successfully raising awareness about environmental issues.
The Board of Trustees of the Conservancy is comprised of distinguished Georgians who share a passion for protecting Georgia’s natural resources. Pope is one of 29 members of the 2011 Board.
The Conservancy’s focuses include land conservation, coastal protection, growth management, water issues and education. The organization supports their cause through a variety of legislative efforts, petitions and programs.
