Live Power Line Electrocutes Georgia Power Employee

Late Tuesday night, an employee of Georgia Power Co. was electrocuted after coming in contact with a live line. He was part of a team trying to repair a power line connection that went down due to weather conditions.

Officials reported the accident occurred along U.S. 82, just east of Brookfield. A manager with Georgia Power stated that the employee had over 20 years of experience as a lineman.
