Atlanta Trial Lawyer Geoff Pope Joins the American Board of Trial Advocates

ATLANTA, GA — (August 14, 2013) Atlanta-based trial lawyer Geoff Pope has been inducted into the Georgia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only society with rigorous admission criteria comprised of the best and most experienced trial lawyers in each state. The American Board of Trial Advocates is dedicated to upholding and strengthening the Constitutional right to a trial by jury through public education and improving the “ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy,” according to the group’s website,www.ABOTA.org.
“I’m honored to be included as a member of such an outstanding group of trial lawyers,” Pope said. “The continuing education of trial lawyers is very important to me, as is promoting and preserving the right to a jury trial. I plan to be an involved member of the American Board of Trial Advocates going forward.”
The American Board of Trial Advocates is comprised of lawyers who try cases before juries, and has members throughout the United States. The association is well known for promoting the right to a trial by jury through sponsored events like the National Jury Summit, which will be held this October in Austin, Texas.
“We are seeing fewer and fewer jury trials, so many lawyers simply don’t have the opportunity to develop the skills needed to be an effective trial advocate. The American Board of Trial Advocates seeks to change that by mobilizing those of us with significant trial experience to help teach those lawyers who have had less courtroom experience,” Pope added. “I’m very happy to be working with them to help uphold and improve the jury trial system.”
