ATLANTA, GA — (May 5, 2016) Trial lawyer Marc Howard, co-founder of Atlanta-based personal injury law firm Pope & Howard P.C., will be attending the upcoming Board of Governors meeting on May 7th, 2016.
The Board of Governors is comprised of the Attorney General of Georgia, as well as lawyers from throughout the state. Howard has served as a member of the Board of Governors since 2010 and represents over 12,000 lawyers from the Atlanta judicial circuit. Howard also served as the Chairman of the State Bar’s Advisory Committee on Legislation, and is the immediate past president of the Sandy Springs Bar Association.
“Our focus on the Board of Governors is to help set new policies for the Georgia State Bar,” Howard explained.
Out of the approximately 43,000 lawyers in Georgia, only 150 serve on the Board of Governors. “It’s really an honor to contribute to policymaking in this way,” Howard added.
Agenda items for the May 7th meeting include a review of the treasurer’s report, wellness task force updates, and recommendations from the finance, programs and personnel committees.
